The Ohio Public Employees Retirement System is publishing a series of five videos to explain the key factors of the pension bill, which goes into effect on Jan. 7.
The third video in the series is on changes to the benefit multiplier. The video features Gordon Gatien, OPERS government relations officer.

I am deciding whether to retire in 2013 or after that. I follow the blogs, have seen the videos, and had a half-hour appointment with one of your workers. All that was helpful, but I am still very overwhelmed with all the stipulations and conditions and the resulting arithmetic and algebra! I need to find somebody who can help me make some actual decisions. Is there any way I can have a more in-depth consultation with someone in your office who specializes in health-care decisions? Or could you suggest other resources? Does any other state agency offer retirement consultations? Are there private sector people who consult on these issues? What are they called (for example, in the Yellow Pages)? Maybe AARP? Thanks.
kggc,
Write down your specific questions and concerns, and schedule another meeting with a counselor, but do so after the first of the year.
