Annual statements available online

Report can help you determine path to retirement security

By Michael Pramik, Ohio Public Employees Retirement System

March 20, 2019 – OPERS encourages all its members to make the annual statement part of your yearly financial review, showing you the impact your OPERS pension can have on your retirement security.

We’ll begin sending annual statements to members who have chosen to receive paper statements beginning in late March and throughout April. All members can view their statements now through the OPERS online account. After signing in to your account, click “View My Annual Statement Now” under the Milestone Notifications/Alerts heading on the home page.

The annual statement is a snapshot of your estimated benefit. You also can view the percentage of your estimated final average salary you will receive if you choose to retire with a reduced or unreduced benefit, or if you continue working a few years longer. Also available is an interactive online tool providing term definitions, an explanation of the estimates provided and links to more information.

And new for this year, we’ve added your OPERS ID to the statement. The OPERS ID is an 11-digit personalized identification method that you can use in place of your Social Security number in many instances, such as verifying your identity over the phone and submitting OPERS forms. It will remain with you throughout your entire OPERS membership.

The annual statement is full of valuable, personalized information. We recommend keeping it on hand as a reference.

To access your online account, you will need your OPERS ID which is located on the top right corner of your Annual Statement. If you can’t locate your OPERS ID, please call us at 800-222-7377 and, after a few security questions, a member of our staff can provide it to you.
