Online account videos added
New series helps members, retirees, make better use of OPERS services

July 18, 2018 – OPERS members and retirees can use their online account to stay in touch with us, apply for retirement and update their personal information.
We published an OPERS Essentials video in March that provides an overview of the OPERS online account. Now, we’re introducing three helpful videos that detail various aspects of the online account:
- Updating personal information: This video walks you through the steps in providing or updating info such as your address or phone number.
- Selecting beneficiaries: Here, you’ll learn how to name someone as your OPERS beneficiary, or change beneficiaries.
- Using the OPERS Benefit Estimator: This video shows you how to forecast what your pension will be when you retire.
The OPERS online account video series is designed to help our members and retirees better understand and make use of their retirement system. We’ll be adding more titles during the coming months. You can view all of the OPERS Essentials videos on our YouTube channel.

Thanks, Carol. You can set up your online account on the OPERS website. Go to opers.org and click on the Member Login button on the top right side. Click on the ‘Need an Account?’ button and follow the instructions. You’ll need your OPERS ID and Social Security numbers. If you need help, please call us at 1-800-222-7377.
How long does it take for plop amount released. My 90 days are up Sunday the 19 of august.
A PLOP is issued no sooner than 90 days after your first monthly benefit, and is typically received the first business day after the 90 days are up. Please call us at 1-800-222-7377 if you want to know the specific day your benefit will be deposited.
