OPERS survey to shape education topics
The Ohio Public Employees Retirement System’s Education team is partnering with public employers to learn how we can help members of all ages make better financial decisions throughout their careers.
We’d like your help. Throughout July, OPERS is conducting a member survey that will help us tailor our education services to meet member needs. We are asking what topics you’d like us to cover in seminars, whether you’d like to know more about personal finance, or about how your pension works, or about the other benefits of being an OPERS member.
You can find the survey at the top of the OPERS website. It takes only a few minutes and will help us help you.
We’ll ask you about your financial concerns, including strategies for saving money, as well as what topics about OPERS you’d like to know more about and when you’d prefer to take education courses.
Thank you for your participation. If you have questions now about your OPERS benefits, refer to our website or call us at 800-222-7377.

I have lots of friends, that I have had to help explain things too about OPERS and especially ONE EXCHANGE . I can explain things that have read or experience. The one thing I have found out their are so many retirees out there that knows very littler about OPERS and ONE EXCHANGE.
Most of the peoples I have helped do not have a computer or smartphone and etc.
Right now I’ve setup three retirees account for OPERS & ONE EXCHANGE ON MY COMPUTER. I do not mind doing this, but the security of this is not secured, but these people’s cannot hear nor understand what is being said on the phones, I have also noticed that older theses retiree are, the less they understand, (I sure hope I do not get that way). A lots of these people need one on one help. I know that hard to do.

You can refer your friends to OSHIIP (The Ohio Senior Health Insurance and Information Program) through the Ohio Department of Insurance. The phone number is 1-800-686-1578. The OSHIIP representatives and volunteers and very helpful. I am not saying they can solve all the problems your friends are having, but they can surely help.
Yes, OSHIIP is a great resource. Thanks for your input Diane.
Can you please ask us if we are satisfied with the changes implemented by OPERS in our health care benefits and services during the last two years? Can you also please ask us if we like the help that OneExchange has provided to us and whether it is worth the money they have received and will be receiving in the future from OPERS?
Susan,
We do conduct regular surveys of our members. We’ll certainly consider your suggestions. This survey, though, was specifically designed to help us shape our education topics.

And, could you please post the results of your regular surveys of members?
Cholly,
Good suggestion. We’ll be completing our latest member survey before the end of the year and will post the results online.

Oh good. I’m glad survey results will be posted, and I will mark my calendar to check the Website for results..
Regards.
Agree. Feel betrayed by OPERS abandoning us to one exchange … did NOT get the insurance plan we asked for. do NOT get questions answered. Do NOT get itemized statements of expenses and income. What happened to my silver sneakers wellness plan? Not happy.
Don’t know what kind of insurance you have, but many of them include silver sneakers even though they don’t seem to let people know about it. Call your insurance company and ask them if you have silver sneakers under your plan.
