Take the Medical Mutual questionnaire and be on your way to wellness

March 24, 2017 — The Eye on Health Questionnaire is a tool available for OPERS participants in the Medical Mutual plan. By completing this brief questionnaire, you can learn more about your health and find out what steps you can take to become even healthier. The results will identify which of these great wellness programs fits your needs. While this questionnaire is very helpful, plan participants are not required to complete it in order to participate in any of the programs listed below:
- Diabetes Prevention – In-person program through your local YMCA giving you the skills and support you need to make lasting lifestyle changes and reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes
- Healthy U – Six-week, community-based workshop through your local area agency on aging that focuses on helping you better manage chronic conditions, such as diabetes, arthritis and heart disease
- QuitLine – Support via telephone designed to help you quit using tobacco products so you can reduce the risk of cardiovascular, respiratory and circulatory diseases
- Weight Watchers – Group support systems set up to help lose weight and build a healthier you
To access the Eye on Health questionnaire, visit MedMutual.com and sign into My Health Plan. Completing the questionnaire takes only a few minutes and does not impact your eligibility for health care coverage.

This message says it’s for those retirees on Med Mutual. Since I’m on Medicare, I’m assuming that it doesn’t apply to me.

If you are interested in Health and Wellness resources, I would recommend calling your current health care insurance provider to see if they offer a questionnaire or programs specific to this topic.

Medical Mutual does offer some Medicare products. If you are Medicare-eligible and participating in the OPERS Medicare Connector, please contact OneExchange at 1-844-287-9945 to find out what Medical Mutual Plans are available.
I took the Healthy U classes at our Senior Center. Extremely helpful.
There was an article about using coupons in injunction with your express-script coverage in the newsletter a while back. I’m on the Medical Mutual plan and found out I needed a prescription and the co-pay was 60 dollars, I looked and looked and found a coupon that said it worked with the medicine I needed and the most I would have to pay would be 15.00 even if I had insurance. I was really surprised when 15.00 was my price instead of 60.00. Could that article be republished as I didn’t pay much attention at the time.

We have posted a few articles since 2015 with regard to prescription medication cost savings tips. The 2016 Q1 insert includes a coupon clipping article geared toward the pre-Medicare retiree; Goodrx.com is a website we have started to mention more and more in print and web based materials. GoodRx is a website that compares prices and offers free coupons to print for diabetic testing supplies and prescription medications. Be sure to check it out if you have not already.
Separately, we have also shared information about Medical Mutual’s My Care Compare tool that identifies service providers in your area offering the lowest costs for laboratory services, X-rays, MRIs and CT scans, physical therapy and even some surgeries. My Care Compare can be used to identify lab service providers whose rates match or fall below the coverage maximums.
