Voya’s online tools can help you plan for retirement

Dec. 4, 2018 – You hear it all the time (because we’re always telling you!): It’s important to make sound financial decisions now so you can save more for retirement and be financially secure in the future. But it takes planning. OPERS members in the Combined and Member-Directed plans can access online planning tools through Voya Financial.
myOrangeMoney
Voya’s interactive myOrangeMoney tool can help you get an idea of what your retirement account might look like in the future. It lets you compare your estimated monthly income with what you may need in retirement.
Voya’s Financial Wellness Experience
Voya is now offering a new Financial Wellness Experience tool. This online program incorporates the myOrangeMoney tool and covers five financial areas:
- Protection
- Saving and spending
- Emergency funds
- Managing debt
- Other savings goals
The Financial Wellness Experience tool includes an interactive assessment that offers you a comprehensive understanding of where you are financially and what they can do about it. After taking a quick assessment, you’ll get a personalized dashboard with guidance and educational content to help you focus on the areas where you could use improvement to move toward a healthier financial future.

Visit the Financial Wellness section of opers.org to learn how you can save more for retirement through Ohio Deferred Compensation and other retirement savings plans.
Is signing up for a VOYA account mandatory in any way? Can I opt out if I choose to do so?
OPERS uses Voya Financial as our third party record keeper for our Member-Directed and Combined plans. As our third party record keeper, Voya provides the online platform for your online account where you can see your account balance and manage your transactions in the defined contribution portion of your account. My Orange Money is a tool that Voya offers to many of its plans, and OPERS chose to customize this tool for our plan and offer it to you through Voya. MyOrange Money and the OPERS Financial Wellness program section are optional resources that you can choose to use.
