Union’s email to members is misleading

OPERS clarifies current situation related to activity at Chicago hotel

Ohio Public Employees Retirement System

June 6, 2019 — The Ohio Public Employees Retirement System would like to clarify a misleading email that many of our members recently have received.

The email concerns our real estate investments and was sent by Unite Here, a union that includes workers in the hotel industry. You can read our response to the email, by OPERS Executive Director Karen Carraher, here.

We thank all of our members for their interest in this matter.

I agree. This was a great response by OPERS. It pinpoints the heart of the issue.
